An urban south church, Garfield sits directly across from our city's beautiful Garfield Park. We are a church seeking to shine the light of Jesus Christ through ministries of discipleship, compassion, and prayer.

Please take a moment to browse the website and discover who we are! As American Baptists we practice the call to live as people of prayer, passion, and purpose. On this site you will learn about our worship, our discipleship/Sunday School ministry, and our ministry groups such as American Baptist Youth, American Baptist Women's ministry, choir, and the food pantry.

Our mission at Garfield Park is to worship God and to be transformed into faithful disciples who serve God and others by being a loving family where everybody is somebody and Jesus is Lord.

Our vision is to Bring New Light to the Park.
We value: Fellowship and friendship as the Family of God, Faith, Compassion, Humor and Joy, Mission and Service, Spirituality, Prayer, Perseverance, and Love.

We believe:
∑ In the Trinity: God as Creator, Jesus Christ as crucified and risen, and the Holy Spirit as our Comforter and Guide.
∑ In the power of prayer
∑ God loves us; therefore we love others through serving
∑ In Salvation as sinners, forgiven and saved by God through the grace of Jesus Christ.
∑ The Church is a community of believers called by God, set apart, to bring the Good News of God's reconciling grace through Christ to all people; to practice justice; to love others; and to walk humbly with God.
∑ In the Bible as the inspired word of God.
∑ That the foundation of the Christian life is to worship God as the Body of Christ, to Study, and to Serve.
∑ In the practice and affirmation of Believer's Baptism.

Please visit us on Sunday mornings at 9:30 A.M. for worship, followed by fellowship time and Sunday School for all ages!
