Youth ministry has always been an integral part of Garfield Park Baptist Church. Through weekly meetings, lock-ins, youth conventions, mission projects, praise services and special events. The youth have many opportunities to grow together and develop a relationship with God.

Youth Meetings
The youth meet most Sunday evenings at the church (5:30). The meetings start with games and fun activites and move to devotional and discussion time. The devotions usuallt focus on issues that teenagers face and include open discussion and bible study. One Sunday each month the you participate in the church praise service.

Lock-Ins
One of the highlights of the year is the annual youth group lock-in. the kids and leaders spend the night at the church. A whole night of crazy games, pizza and snack food, bowling as well as worship sessions make for a very fun even. Our lock-ins usually take place in February.

Conventions
One weekend a year, American Baptist Youth from all over Indiana come together for the Jr. and Sr. High conventions. The weekends are full of high-energy worship and peaise along with special speakers focusing on the theme of the conventions. Conventions are a great opportunity for the kids to meet and reunite with other Baptist Youth from around the state.

National conventions are held every 3 years with the last two being held in Estes Park Colorado. Over the years the youth have not only attended the conventions but also a few have been very active on the planning committees and state boards.

Special Events

Here are a few other activities the youth participate in,

Cook outs, bowling, retreats, miniature golf, neighborhood festival, helping at the vacation bible school, Wheeler Mission Christmas party, popcorn at the park and more

The youth group at Garfield Park Baptist Church is not only for kids in the church but for any youth that want to attend. Our purpose is to provide a place where kids can have fun in a safe and Christian environment. A place where they can express problems and concerns that they may be facing. A place where they can experience God’s love and can develop friends and memories that will last a lifetime.
